Bronze Castings

My bronze work is rooted in expression of my personality. The pieces are based on much loved experiences with equine and canine training and competition. My wildlife work reflects many many hours of study and observation during field studies and travels. I use a little humor, intrigue, and a pinch of whimsy in my interpretation of my subjects. I deliver a very loose and exaggerated style to leave a little to the imagination of my viewer. The eye naturally wants to complete and make sense of what it observes. The loose nature is meant to give reference to energy and feeling given from living creatures.

Canvases

Mixed Media- Acrylic paint, sparkle, beading and paper cutouts grab inspiration and foundation from The Utopian Ranch. Craft rhinestones and crystals project a modern twist to stain glass windows. My research on Chagall’s stain glass work and Matisse and his cutout period, particularly Jazz, lends thought to this body of work. When you look closely, the characters seem to come forward from the rhinestone background. The subjects are representing strength and resilience of aging gracefully mixed with mischievousness and a “Campy” attitude.
